Attack of the Snake Guy and…New Home?

After having sold what was collected at the bee hive, Aeodan, Yan, Merf, Ed, and the brothers (Bronwen and Branek) decided to follow up on the rumors of spider creatures spotted out near the mushroom groves. Once near Clynog’s Folly some tracks were seen in the newly fallen snow and suddenly someone darted away from behind some trees. After giving chase it was clear this was no ordinary human; he had lizard eyes and a forked tongue. It was some kind of a snake guy!!!

And he was armed with a curved short sword that was covered in some sort of translucent goo.

A valiant fight was put up, with attacks on the creature using arrows, a spear, and a sword, which finally finished ‘him’ off but not before slicing Merf and Yan with the dripping sword. Yan groaned and sunk to his knees and then fell unconscious. They tried washing out his wound with melted snow.

The brothers carried him back to town and it was decided he needed healing from Jezmay the apothecary if he was to survive.

Jezmay ushered the group in but insisted the sword and scabbard remain outside her house.

She tended to Merf’s superficial wound and poured a black foaming liquid onto Yan’s wound. She was asked her opinion on Ogred and she said he’s in over his head and things in the town are not what they seem. She was well aware that her daughter was becoming a powerful witch before she was murdered by Clynog and the others. She took a look at the sword outside and said it was covered in venom. Yan started recovering.

Back at town Aeodan, Bronwen and Branek went to the Mead Hall. Aeodan again found it necessary to spout out loudly about how no one else in town was stepping up to do bee duty with Arthur being too old and sick. Lan, who runs the Mead Hall, leaned in and said they needed to start keeping a low profile. Ogred had been making statements about them akin to “this town ain’t big enough for the both of us”The next day Bronwen came up with the idea of the adventuring party relocating to the old log camp. While not entirely convinced of this plan, a group of them went out to survey the camp to see what shape it was in and if it would be feasible as a new base camp. They’d leave Ogdar’s Reach and start fresh there.
